        A word about our upcoming opportunities from E-Boarder Jenni Lewis…

Hello Everyone,

This year has gotten off to a great start and we are super excited to work with so many new members. We had 100 members at our first general assembly meeting and more than half of them have approached an e-board member to find new ways to get involved. This year, we are starting our full service agency and we already have six confirmed clients. They range from health care to scene to entertainment. The opportunities to get involved this year and get real world experience to enhance your resume are limitless!

Another highlight of PRSSA is the upcoming National Conference in Detroit, MI October 24-28. This is held simultaneous to our professional cohort, PRSA, conference and is a great opportunity to make connections with professionals from all over America. Last year, I met people from General Motors and ended up getting an internship this past summer. In addition to the professional relationships you build, the information you learn on the various aspects of public relations and internship opportunities, the conference is a lot of fun!

I love talking about PR and the opportunities that it has opened for me, so instead of going on and on for a day and a half, I will just sign off by saying talk to me after the meetings. The next meeting in September is on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 7 p.m. in 147 CAS. In October, the meetings are October 7th and October 21st. I look forward to meeting you and working with you in your professional development.
