Chapter Happenings

The Salvation Army is looking for individual and group volunteers to assist us with our Christmas 2008 programs. Christmas is the busiest season for The Salvation Army. Without the help of countless volunteers each year, many struggling parents in our area would not be able to provide gifts and food for their children.

Anyone interested in volunteering during our 2008 holiday season may e-mail shonna_simms-rosa@salvationarmy.org for more information. The Salvation Army realizes that some of the opportunities are available after the semester ends, but it is their hope is that students remaining in the area for the holidays will be interested in volunteering their time.

The Residence Halls Association Presents:
PIMPOLOGY: It's About the Relationship!
Thursday, November 13th at 9 p.m. in 1279 Anthony Hall
Everyone is encouraged to attend this event, but I need volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help set up beginning at 7:30 p.m. We need volunteers to perform sex positions. There will be a segment that will talk about sexual education and to gage people's attention there will be students demonstrating several sex positions. If you have a friend or a significant other that you feel most comfortable with, that is fine. This is not an opportunity for free feels, but an opportunity to demonstrate visually safe sex practices. We will also need volunteers to help clear out. All volunteers will receive Hubbell points. Please contact Jenni Lewis at j.lewis1021@gmail.com if you would like to help out with this event.

The Breaking Point: Let us help you create the linkage the balance in your life.
Monday, November 17th at 7 p.m. in Wonders Kiva
Thursday, November 20th at 6 p.m. in McDonel Kiva
With the help of approximately 10 PRSSAers, this event to create awareness of anxiety, depression and stress on campus has been built from the ground up. They have planned the event, handled advertisement for the event and are conducting media relations for this event, so attendance to support your fellow members will earn you 1 Hubbell Point. In addition, you can earn another point for volunteering with the event. We need assistance setting up, keeping the flow of the event and directing people to various breakout sessions. This event includes FREE food, massages and tons of giveaways. Each day will be kicked off with a performance by the skit team 1825 of MSU's own Advantage. You won't want to miss it! Please contact Jenni Lewis at j.lewis1021@gmail.com if you would like more information or if you want to help out.

FRIB is a $550 million facility that will be funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, and MSU is one of the top competitors for the spot.
Go to www.scienceandjobsformichigan.com for an EASY way to send a quick message to your congressional delegates showing your support, (just type in your zip code to find your reps and we have talking points to help you with your message). and to learn more about FRIB.
Also, the campaign is looking for volunteers to help design "Bring FRIB to our Crib" t-shirts, and to help out with a big press conference in the fall. E-mail Monica Fineis at mfineis@mwadvocacy.com for more information.
